  • What payment methods do you accept for booking deposits / gift vouchers?
You can pay by cash, cheque, bank draft, postal order or by Laser/Visa/Mastercard (over the phone) and by PayPal (on the Home page)- whatever is easier for you.

***For security reasons please do not send your laser or credit card details to me by email.***

Cheques, Bank Drafts or Postal Orders should be made payable to "Michelle Maher".
All classes/workshops are payable in advance.  Deposits are non-refundable and 24 hours notice is required for cancellation.  Full terms and conditions below.

Please remember to confirm availability by email before paying your deposit by PayPal.

There are a number of options available:

In terms of voucher values a six week course is  €160, a one day workshop costs €90 or €170 for two days and a 2 hour introductory class is €30 - so vouchers are available for these amounts.  But having said that the vouchers are available in whatever amount suits you.  At any rate, the voucher can be used for either weekly classes or a weekend workshop and the recipient can make that choice themselves later.

Vouchers are valid for one year from date of issue.

I received a gift of a voucher for classes/workshops which is now out of date, what can I do?

If your voucher is out of date please contact me and I'm sure we will be able to sort something out.  If you lost the original voucher I can check my records and trace it for you.

Absolutely, beginners are especially welcome.   Because of the small class size and the positive atmosphere in the classes you will be surprised at what you can achieve in a short space of time.  Contrary to what you might believe you do not have to be "creative" to do pottery or ceramics.  All you need is a willingness to learn and I will teach you the rest.  If you are not convinced take a look at the Gallery of Students Work on the Workshops page, most of the pieces shown were made by total beginners.

Yes, provided there is a place available in the class, to check availability please email or call me.

Email or call me to check if  there is a place available, if there is I will ask you to send or drop in a booking deposit to secure your place (I also accept laser/visa/MC).  [€60 deposit for a 6 wk course; €45/€85 deposit for a one/two day Wkshop; €25/€50 deposit for corporate/private bookings;  €30 payment in full for an introductory class.]
Please note all deposits are non-refundable and 24 hours notice is required for cancellation. See below for payment methods.

The fee is  €160 and includes all materials, glazes, firing of the pieces and use of equipment and tools.   The fee less any deposit paid is due at the first class.  Please note that classes run over 6 consecutive weeks.  Full details on course content etc is on the Workshops page.

No, we concentrate on hand building as a method of construction.

No, classes are ongoing all year round.  We don't start new courses in September or January you can join a class at any time, provided a space is available.

Yes, due to the small class size everyone works on individual projects at their own level and pace.  The classes are tailored to development your skills to whatever level you want to achieve.  Some of my students have studied Art or Ceramics at University level and now attend the classes to enhance their 3-D skills in clay.  I also take students through V.E.C. and F.A.S. funded projects  to further their training.

Yes, I offer a 2 hour introductory class for  € 30.  You can come along and have a look at the studio, meet some other students and
try your hand at making a simple piece.  The majority of people who try the introductory class end up starting a 6 week course, although this  is up to you.

Yes, I run one or two day workshops on an ongoing basis as well.  Details of forthcoming events are on the Workshops page of this website.
I recommend that you email or call me to register your interest in workshops as they are proving to be very popular.  If you email me your mobile number I will then contact you when the next workshop is booking.

I run workshops on a Saturday and/or Sunday once a month, all year round.  I announce the dates for the workshop a few weeks before hand.  If you wish to be contacted about workshops please email or text me your mobile phone number and you will be contacted every month with the dates and details of the next workshop.  If you wish to have your number removed from the list at any time just email me and let me know.  Please note workshops are very popular so let me know asap if you wish to attend (a deposit is required to secure a place).

No, I provide all tools and materials.  However, it is a good idea to wear an old shirt or apron to protect your clothes.

Are there any Terms and Conditions I need to know before coming to a class or  workshop?

Yes there are a few,  otherwise it would make the planning of the workshops/classes impossible.  So here they are :
  1. Weekly classes run in blocks of 6 consecutive weeks, but you can miss one class in a block without penalty, so in other words take 7 weeks to do 6 classes.
  2.  If something comes up one week and you wish to come on a different night other than your regular one, this is only possible if there is room in the other class, please text me to check availability.  But I can usually accommodate people.
  3. Otherwise if you miss a class you lose it.
  4. All deposits are non-refundable.
  5. 24 hours notice is required for cancellations of a workshop/new block of classes, if less notice is given payment in full is due.
  6.  If you "No Show" for a class you lose the class, please remember to text me when you can't make a class.
  7. You need to collect your pieces from the studio after they are fired.  Due to a lack of storage space, uncollected work will be disposed of after 3 months.
Many thanks.
