Ceramic wall sculpture - 'The Space In Between' by Michelle Maher. Shown here at Sculpture in Context 2017 at The National Botanic Gardens in Dublin. It is inspired by the microscopic world of plant cells – in particular, vascular bundles in plant stems. Consisting of 106 pieces it was hand built in a cranked clay body and high fired in an electric kiln to 1260 C. www.ceramicforms.com

The Space In Between

Ceramic wall sculpture Synergy by Michelle Maher. Shown here at Sculpture in Context 2015 at The National Botanic Gardens. Inspired by a shoreline in the Burren, Co. Clare, Ireland. The synergy of soft & hard, water & rock, stillness & rage, light & shade is the inspiration for the piece. Hand sculpted and modelled in a crank stoneware clay & electric fired to 1260°C. www.ceramicforms.com

Wall Pieces - Small

Hand Print Project. Large-scale Collaborative Public Art Commission 2009 with St. Peter’s National School, Phibsborough, Dublin. This project celebrated the opening of their new school building and had a strong collaborative element between Ceramic Artist Michelle Maher and the whole school community. Collaborative Public Art Project by ceramic artist Michelle Maher for the children's charity Barnardos. Working in collaboration with the children and staff we created an 8 meter long ceramic wall sculpture inspired by the Aurora Borealis, the local river Tolka and the science of bubbles. Castaheany E.T.N.S. CRAFTed

Collaborative Public Art Project- Beaumont Hospital School by ceramic artist - Michelle Maher. The project involved working collaboratively with the young patients in the children’s ward. The finished wall piece was inspired by microscopic patterns in plant stems and branching patterns in nature and was installed in the reception area of the children’s ward – St. Raphael’s Ward in Beaumount Hospital. www.ceramicforms.com

Beaumont Hospital School

The finished project exhibited over two walls. (Dimensions - 7m x 1.3m) Public Art Project 2006 by ceramic artist Michelle Maher & the children, staff & parents at St. Patrick's N.S., Diswellstown, Dublin 15 - to commemorate the opening of their new school. Working in collaboration we created a wall piece entitled 'When the hand was lifted from the clay', it comprised of the handprints of almost 450 participants and was installed in the foyer of the new school building. www.ceramicforms.com
