Sculpture at the Castle 2016

Ceramic wall sculpture Synergy by Michelle Maher. Shown here at Sculpture in Context 2015 at The National Botanic Gardens. Inspired by a shoreline in the Burren, Co. Clare, Ireland. The synergy of soft & hard, water & rock, stillness & rage, light & shade is the inspiration for the piece. Hand sculpted and modelled in a crank stoneware clay & electric fired to 1260°C. www.ceramicforms.com

I am delighted to be exhibiting three more ceramic sculptures at Blarney Castle and Gardens at the Sculpture at the Castle 2016 exhibition.

Synergy, Fauna or Flora? and Vulnerability will all feature and I can’t wait to see how the pieces will look in this stunning garden.

This outdoor sculpture exhibition will run until 1st June – 5th September 2016 – not to be missed.  Gardens open daily, tickets available online or at the gate www.blarneycastle.ie/.

Sculpture at the Castle 2016 will showcase Blarney Castle and Gardens newly qualified Wildlife Estates Status.  The Wildlife Estates Label provides recognition to exemplary estates that voluntarily agree to adhere to the philosophy of wildlife management and sustainable land use.

A number of my ceramic water sculptures are held in the permanent collection of Blarney Castle and Gardens.
